Welcome to our Blue Maine Coon photo album! In cat color terms, "blue" means a beautiful shade of gray - anything from a soft gray to a deeper slate tone.
It’s one of those colors that can be hard to picture until you see it for yourself.
That's why we've put together this gallery of real-life Blue Maine Coons, submitted by our readers.
If you’re wondering what the blue color really looks like, or you just love scrolling through Maine Coon photos, you’re in the right place.
There’s no better way to appreciate the variety and beauty of this color than by seeing it in action!

Take a look at Elliot and his glorious blue coat!
Sharon shares that he’s a sensitive soul - affectionate in his own way, always ready to chat, and a true water lover who prefers drinking by dipping his paw and licking it off..

Mobi is a sweet, timid, curious, chatty 10 year old Gentle Giant.
He has two extra digits on each paw which is a challenge as he does not like his claws to be trimmed.
I have SO many photos of him, but here are just a few. He is a blue tabby with white, I think it's called.

Delphine was born October 3, 2022 in southern New Jersey. I picked her up on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2023.
I brought her home and introduced her to my other cat named Loverboy and they hit it off spectacularly.
She is sweet and gentle and super smart. Everybody loves her and Loverboy.

Dalton is a magnificent, sweet tempered 31 lb. Maine Coon from Georgia.
He loves to cuddle and nap with his humans, and in laundry baskets. His purr sounds like a lion. He knows no strangers.

What a perfect way to inform your humans! My Mapache used to sit right in the middle of the dinner plate on the fully set table. Adorable!
Willow chilling after a morning using the house as obstacle course. He is full of character and energy, mischievous and funny in his traits.

Lisa:
My kitty plays fetch every night to burn off her extra energy. She finds her favorite toy - a beat-up little ‘mouse’ - and we play until she’s ready to sleep.
I know she plays more during the night because her toys are scattered everywhere by morning!
Thankfully, she lets me get my sleep. Once I’m out, she could drop a brick on my head and I wouldn’t notice. Cats like Willow bring so much joy.
Laurie:
He looks absolutely spent - and absolutely beautiful. Love his cozy sleeping spot!

Timmie (age 10) and Giselle (age 5) are not only sisters but also share the same Grandmother.
Giselle is three times removed, her grandfather and Timmie are first cousins.
When the girls are not viewing from their heavy-duty cat tree (due to her very svelte 22lbs, Timmie has tested the sturdiness of many cat trees over the years) the myriad of birds and squirrels outside the window, they love to snuggle together for their cat naps.
Both Timmie and Giselle love playing with their mama’s grandsons when they come to visit.
They've both been known to steal space on pillows and sleeping bags during sleepovers with the grand kiddos, and they both really love to play fetch and chase the laser light.
What the sisters love the most is to go for walks on their harnesses and leashes - or just sit on the front porch with their mama and keep watch over the little dogs that live close by.
Timmie easily towers over most of them and isn't the least bit phased when one starts barking at her.
King Zo and Loki are half brothers with the same father, both liters were born 10 days apart so they knew each other from the beginning.
We imported them from the same breeder in the Ukraine. They are about 6.5 months old.
King Zo is a blue smoke tabby and weighs about 12 pounds already, Loki is a true blue smoke and weighs about 11 pounds. I think both are going to be very big boys lol.
They are a wonderful addition to our family which includes two small children who pic up the cats, wrestle them and romp around with the kittens and the kittens just sort tolerate it all, and even seem to enjoy it (most of the time haha).
Wonderful additions to our family!
(note from editor: read more about these boys as they grow and Zo gets a name change!)

Adult Weight

Maybe it’s not the best indicator, but I’m curious, if there is anyone here whose
cats are now adults and weighed in the 11 to 12 pound range when 6 months
old how big the cats ultimately became?
Food and tufts
by: Community Member
After a lot of research we moved our kittens to an exclusively raw meat diet of
ground up muscle tissue, with some organ meat, and a bit of ground up bone.
Supplemented with probiotics and a bit of cat vitamins. Our boys are growing sooo fast, and at 6 months old are bigger than most non-Maine Coon cats.
They have these super cool looking ear tufts, King Zo has those huge white rusts that are like 4 inches long growing from inside his ears, and about 3/4 inch tufts at the tips of his ears.
Loki has shorter tufts growing from inside his ears, but the tufts growing at the tips of his ears are over an inch longs, and give him a devilish look, while King Zo looks like a wizened old wizard or something with those long silver inner ear tufts... we almost named him Gandolph but my 4 year old chose King Zo lol

Isak is a sweet, loyal 13 year old Maine Coon mix. Napping after a long day chasing everything is the best!
He is talkative, loving, intuitive and completely spoiled. He follows us around and loves to give his opinion whether in meows or chatters.

I adopted him when he was 4 years old. He is 14 now. He is lovely and friendly. He loves people.
